The Detroit Fix

Originally sent to politicians in Washington, this plan was not implemented and instead the Cash for Clunkers variation was instituted. Cash for clunkers just got rid of old cars for a heft fee, but never fixed the American auto industry failure. What they did was inadequate and mostly helped the foreign car manufacturers. This plan was far more effective and would have revitalized the American car industry instead of allowing it to fail along with all those American jobs.
